That strong, clear voice has been stilled. It has gone from us - gone home. Odetta has gone. Now, if some of you were not paying attention, you may only recall her famous performance with Harry Belafonte of There's a hole in my bucket, dear Henry. Farewell, Odetta. You take with you much love and affection. You enriched our lives and our times.
Do not depend on the hope of result. Start more and
more to concentrate not on the results but on the value,
the rightness, the truth of the work itself ...
